News Writers commit to writing at least 2 readers per day. They find pitches on the Daily Pitch spreadsheet, consult at least 3 sources, and synthesize the information for the headline news part of the KBOO Evening News.
When finished, readers should be submitted to the day's producer, who will edit the content for broadcast. On M/W/F they need to be turned in by 4 p.m. The shift says it starts at noon, but you can write these readers whenever in the day is most convenient for you.
Readers they complete are short, which makes them suitable for an audio medium, and are no more than 16 lines.
This work can be done virtually, or in person in the KBOO Newsroom.
