KBOO is returning to broadcast the Good in the Hood Festival from King School Park! This annual festival is the largest of its type in the Pacific Northwest. It opens with a parade that travels through Northeast Portland and ends at the site of the festival. The event runs from Saturday, June 24 to Sunday, June 25 from noon to 8pm. Good in the Hood is a great community party and this event should be loads of fun.
You will shadow the board operator and learn how to set up in the station airroom and communicate with the on-site engineer about how the feed sounds and any technical issues that may come up. You will also listen for any FCC violations that may slip through and dump them accordingly.
The shift times are about 95% locked in, but could shift slightly as the event schedule is tweaked.
