Folks can do 1-4 promos for any variation of the scripts below. There is no expectation to do all four scripts. If you are unsure which ones you'd want to prioritize, you can check the Promo Audio Submitted folder.
When submitting the audio, please use the naming convention of "26EY PROMO" followed by the number of the script you choose, and your name. EX: "26EY PROMO 4 Thomas Train"

Recording Details
- If you can, please place your completed audio in this folder: Promo Audio Submitted by the deadline: 11/24/2025
- If you are unable to access the folder, you can email your audio file to Program@kboo.org
- Accepted file types: WAV, FLAC, or MP3
- Promos should not exceed 45 seconds ideally
- Please make sure to watch your levels, so your voice doesn't clip.
- If you are capable of adding a music bed, we deeply appreciate it! If not, no worries. We can seek support from an editing volunteer after you submit your voicing clip.
- If you add a music bed, make sure the music bed does not overpower the voice
- Feel free to get creative with it and add sound effects!
Where and how to record your promo:
If you have taken Introduction to Studio Production, you can check out a production studio (by email volunteer@kboo.org) and record/mix your promo at the station in a production studio!
You may also produce the promo remotely if you wish! If you don't have any equipment, a smartphone with a basic recording app works just fine, but please be mindful of audio quality.
Pro Tip for recording at home: Record in a dense space, surrounding yourself with blankets and pillows can help absorb reverb and white noise. Closets usually work great for this! You can also place a sock over your phone speaker to act as a pop filter.
