Afro-Pop Culture Festival Engineer

Description

KBOO will be broadcasting live from the Afro-Pop Culture Festival on June 19! The goal of the festival is to share Afro-pop culture, bring people together, and build diverse roots. The broadcast will entail live music, story telling, interviews, and a fashion show. The event is being held at Ethos Music Center on 2 N Killingsworth Street.

We've never broadcasted a fashion show before, so there will be some experimentation and producers will have to be ready to adjust on the fly. It should be a ton of fun.

This position is for people looking to get some on-site engineering experience. There will be an engineer there to train you and support when needed. You will be in contact with the airroom making sure the broadcast sounds good. You will also keep an ear out for FCC violations and watch the producer for cues as to when you cut to the anchors and the stage. The shifts are from 2:30pm to 5pm and 4:30pm to 7pm.

The duration of the show is a little awkward, so shifts are short, but if you want to sign up for both shifts, feel free to do so. People signed up for the last shift are expected to help pack the gear up at the end of the broadcast.

Warning Requires: FCC Training
