On May 1st, 2026, we would like to show our support for the Labor and Immigrant Rights Movement. Organizers and activists across the nation are calling on community members to rise up and disrupt business as usual, through means of peacefully marching in the streets, boycotts, and staying home from work and school.
In alignment with this call to action, we'll be disrupting the airwaves with music to fuel and inspire the resistance. We’re envisioning an all-day playlist, "The Soundtrack to the Resistance," with a specific announcement broadcasting in between, informing the listeners why we are not broadcasting our regularly scheduled programming and what the day is about.
We need your help to pull off this important special programming day! We’ll need:
On-air volunteers to preproduced 15-minute clean music sets focused on themes of labor and immigrant rights, with no back announcing. You can submit your mixed set to this folder.
If you can’t produce a set, we appreciate song recommendations. You can either send them to mayday2026@kboo.org or add them directly to this spreadsheet. We encourage you to add as many as you like! And if possible, add the audio track to this folder.
We’ll need editors to string together these programming blocks for broadcast, as well as listen through for indecent language
