What is Public Affairs?
Public affairs radio shows address matters of public policy and general interest. This type of programming covers a wide range of topics important to the community. It is educational, informative, cultural and appropriate for all listeners of a station. The FCC requires community stations to act as public trustees, and providing PA programs helps fulfill that. This ensures the public has access to vital information that pertains to the community which is not primarily marketing, advertising, or entertainment material.
